Beats for Bella

Inspired by the journey of Bella Borkowski who was born with a severe CHD known as Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), Beats for Bella was founded to enhance the quality of life for children living with these heart defects and to support life-saving advancements in CHD research.

Established in 2014, the organization not only strives to increase public knowledge about the prevalence of CHDs, which affect 1 in 100 babies born each year, but also emphasizes the need for ongoing research and support, as this area remains significantly underfunded despite its severity. They organize various fundraisers throughout the year, including an annual golf outing and other community events, to gather support and funds for CHD research and the heart community.

The ongoing care needed for children like Bella, who underwent three critical surgeries by the age of three, highlights the importance of the work carried out by Beats for Bella. Their efforts are aimed at ensuring that those affected by CHDs have access to the necessary medical and emotional support throughout their lives.
